Another Travel Writer Loved Her Trip to St Lucia
The beautiful island of St. Lucia has been making immense headlines of late. So I couldn’t help but succumb to my temptations and embark upon the exotic island to participate in their many activities.
.
Last month the island hosted the World Twenty20 World Cup, most notably the cricket game where West Indies played against Australia. St. Lucia became the island of choice for the big finale scene of reality show “The Bachelor” held at the open air Celestial Terrace at Jade Mountain Resort, which I must add has a spectacular view of the Pitons, two volcanoes, which are the most famous landmarks of the island.
.
Their Jazz Festival, a premier Caribbean musical and cultural experience, featured artists such as NeYo, Maxi Priest, Jean Luc Monty, Steel Pulse, Teddyson John, Jeffery Osbourne,Freddie Jackson, Corinne Bailey Rae and Laura Izbor to name a few.
.
What made this island gem a pleasurable stay were the panoramic views and the palatable, fresh food we ate at Cap Maison Luxury Villa, and Body Holiday. Also, the people I met during my stay were genuinely welcoming.
.
All of the staff at Almond Morgan Bay, our all inclusive hotel resort, was extremely hospitable. Whether you are checking in or laying poolside, they ensure that your cups are always overflowing.
.
My hotel room, located directly on the water, allowed me to fall asleep hearing the sounds of the tide moving back and forth, making it ideal for a great nights rest. The guys at the activity station were very patient and were eager to show me how to wind surf, kayak, or jet ski, and there is always something to do at the hotel or around the island at any hour. The bars stay open late…and don’t be surprised to see Shaggy, or Maxi Priest lounging around the hotel if they are in town for a performance.
