Digicel Elite Strikers are once again the team to beat in the 2009 Helen of the West netball competition.
Digicel Elite Strikers are more than ready to defend their Helen of the West Netball title. The competition which involves six teams is from October 10-17 at the Beausejour Practice Indoor Facility.

The British Royal Navy has two teams taking part in the tournament. The only other foreign team is X-ceed from St Vincent and the Grenadines. St Lucia Moscow on the Hudson ipod is represented by Shamrock, Avengers Eagles and defending champions Digicel Elite Strikers.

Strikers are a star studded squad consisting of a number of top athletes who have played at the national level. One player they are counting on heavily, is two-time Senior Netball of the Year Shem Maxwell. Her list of achievements include: Most Accurate Shooter at the 2008 OECS Club, Most Valuable Player and Most Accurate Shoot at the 2008 Helen of the West.

On the field of play, Maxwell describes herself as a forceful competitor who has an all-round defensive play and is very discipline when it comes to training.
